Mehmet Kesim
Prof. Dr. Mehmet KESIM received his BSc. and MSc. Degrees from Karadeniz Technical University, Trabzon-Turkey in 1974 as an Electric Engineer and gained his Ph.D. Degree in the field of Cinema – Television and Educational Technology from Anadolu University, Eskisehir in 1985. He is fluent in English
He trained as a Video Engineer in UK and Germany. He was the chair of the Television Technical Projects supported by Germany on behalf of Anadolu University, Eskisehir. He has extensive experience in the field of digital media projects including Mobile, Terrestrial, Satellites, IPTV, Digital Radio, Interactive TV, HD, UHD (4K) Technologies and Augmented Reality. He has given seminars and conferences to Radio and TV Broadcasting Companies. He organized various events together with the DigiTAG (Digital Terrestrial Television Action Group- Geneva Switzerland) and DVBWorld (Digital Radio-London United Kingdom) in Turkey and gave consultancy to various organizations. He was an Innovation Jury member of IABM (International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers) Awards for Design and Innovation, United Kingdom Peter Wayn Award.
He is a member of EDEN (European Distance and E-Learning Network) and Editorial Board Member of EURODL (European Journal of Open, Distance and E-Learning). He received “Fellowship” from EDEN in 2009. His focus is on the application of New Communication Technologies in Distance Learning Technologies. He has various publications on new communication technologies and their use in distance learning.
