The Tiny Wishes Tree Project
The Tiny Wishes Tree project is an outreach initiative carried out by the Equal Opportunities for Children Association, the Equal Opportunities for Children Community, TED University and TED University Ayşe Ilıcak Library with the aim of social responsibility and improving children's education and living standards.
The project aimed to reach children studying in village schools in Gaziantep and Kahramanmaraş provinces and the fieldwork was completed in December 2024 in 2 days.
Within the scope of the project, a total of 7 village schools in both provinces were visited. During the visits, various educational and life support materials were provided to approximately 200 children.
The materials gifted to the children included the toys of their dreams, winter clothes such as boots, coats, scarves, gloves and beanies, as well as socks and stationery. In addition, a multi-purpose hall was prepared for a school in need and developmental workshops were organized in 3 different areas for psychosocial support with children.
The project also gifted books to children to help them develop reading habits.
In conclusion, the Tiny Wishes Tree project plays an important role in raising awareness of social responsibility, eliminating inequality of opportunity among children and reinforcing the culture of solidarity in society.
The positive impact of the project, both educationally and psychologically, is a promising example of the sustainability of similar projects in the future.
