The Disasters Resilience Foundation (TAM Foundation) was Incorporated!
The Disasters Resilience Foundation (TAM Foundation) which constitutes the legal entity of AFETTEK Platform was incorporated. The decision on the establishment of TAM Foundation was published in the Official Gazette dated 24 December 2024.The foundation's first Board of Trustees meeting was held on December 25, 2024.
The foundation's philosopy is based on the idea that responding to disasters is a global responsibility that concerns all individuals and institutions of societies and that the private sector, universities and non-governmental organisations, which produce a large part of the economic and intellectual outputs of the societies, have important responsibilities.
The objectives of the TAM Foundation are:
- Raising awareness and educating all segments of the society in relation to disasters,
- Developing various technologies, products and services to be used at each stage of disaster cycle,
- Supporting collaborative initiatives such as organized industrial zones and technology development zones where these products and technologies can be produced,
- Supporting the efforts and initiatives of other stakeholders, particularly public institutions in disaster response,
- Establishing international co-operation and ensuring co-ordination among all stakeholders in this field,
- Establishing and developing national and international institutions, infrastructure and social networks that will serve this purpose.
