Tuğba Özer
Tuğba Özer received her Bachelor of Architecture (2014), Master of Architecture (2016), and PhD (2022) degrees from Middle East Technical University. During her studies, she enrolled in the Erasmus Programme, studying at Politecnico di Milano in Italy for a year (2012-2013) and at the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, 2017-2018) for a semester. While her master's thesis dwelled upon plural architectural experience against the supremacy of vision in architecture, her PhD thesis examined how alienation affects the built environment and looked for ways to mitigate its effects, particularly through revisiting the Dutch architect Aldo van Eyck's concept of the in-between realm.
Between March 2023 and June 2024, she worked as an adjunct instructor at the second-year architectural design studio at Middle East Technical University, the Department of Architecture. In October 2023, she started working as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Visual Communication Design at TED University. She has been working as an Assistant Professor at TED University since September 2024.
