Numan Pekgöz
Numan Pekgöz is a designer, developer, author and instructor in creative and technical production of digital content and websites. He is one of the pioneers in promoting Standard Web Technologies in Turkey. He published 6 books and countless articles about creative and technical media creation in the last decades.
Pekgöz earned his Web Engineering degree in Amsterdam Computerij Institute, Chemistry Bachelor of Science degree in Istanbul Boğaziçi University and Electronics Technician degree in Istanbul. He was graduated from The Master of Arts Program for Management in Educational Institutions in TED University.
After he functioned as Product Manager of Consumer Electronics in Profilo, he spent 15 years in The Netherlands, took part in more than 100 esteemed web projects like Citroën, Coca Cola, Porsche, KLM, L’Oreal, Maybelline, Good Year, BP as well as ministry and government web projects. These included Police Department and Ministry of Defense of The Netherlands websites. Four projects of his have been selected as inspiring web designs by Web Design Index. He won the EPICA award with his team in 2005 with the pro bono project First8 and the EFFIE award with ABN AMRO Markets campaign site. Some of his publications are being used as the course books in several universities and certificate programs.
Numan Pekgöz is also a renowned Tai Chi, Qigong, Daoyin, Bagua and traditional weapons styles instructor, competitor and owner of 15 international medals. He won the world championship title in IMAF 2007 in the sword category, and the STN Dutch Open 8 times. He gives seminars and workshops in Turkey and abroad in his fields of competence. He is fluent in English and Dutch, and interested in Chinese, Japanese and oriental calligraphy at hobby level.
