Kinematics of particles and planar kinematics of rigid bodies: absolute motion, relative motion. Kinetics of particles: equations of motion, work-energy and impulse-momentum. Systems of particles. Planar kinetics of rigid bodies: planar kinetic equations of motion, equations of work- energy. Introduction to the dynamics of vibrating systems.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Examine planar motion of system of particles and rigid bodies by employing kinematic relationships,
- Calculate forces resulting from planar motions of system of particles and rigid bodies by applying newton's equations,
- Examine planar motion of particles and rigid bodies by using the principles of work-energy,
- Examine planar motion of particles and rigid bodies by using the principles of impulse-momentum,
- Solve undamped/damped free/forced vibration problems of single degree of freedom systems.
