All programs of TED University Faculty of Education are accredited with high scores!
While the number of faculties of education in Turkey is approaching one hundred, TED University Faculty of Education is the only faculty of education in Turkey with all its undergraduate programs accredited.
According to data from the Council of Higher Education, there are 208 universities in Turkey, while the number of faculties of education is approaching one hundred. While many universities demonstrate their high quality of education with their achievements, the latest news in this context came from TED University (TEDU) Faculty of Education. It was announced that the faculty was accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Teacher Education Programs (EPDAD), the only official organization authorized by the Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) for faculties of education. Thus, TEDU Faculty of Education became the only faculty of education in Turkey with all undergraduate programs accredited as of the 2023-2024 academic year.

” Stating that all undergraduate programs at the Faculty of Education will be included as accredited programs in the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) guide, TED University Rector Prof. Dr. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu made the following statement on the subject:
"We are proud that in the comprehensive evaluation conducted by EPDAD, all programs of our faculty have received the highest level of evaluation in the field of accreditation, proving their compliance with high quality standards. We have become the only faculty of education in Turkey with all undergraduate programs accredited. With the evaluation, we have once again reinforced our pioneering position in this field. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our academic staff and supporters who contributed to this success."
Top 5 among universities in Turkey
According to the information obtained from Prof. Dr. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu, who said that there are 5 undergraduate programs in the faculties of education, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Classroom Teaching and Preschool Teaching programs were accredited in 2019. Thus, it became the first faculty to have its programs accredited among the universities in Ankara at that time, and one of the first 5 universities among the universities in Turkey. On the other hand, the English Language Teaching undergraduate program was accredited in 2021, while the application for Primary Mathematics Teaching was made last year.
Stating that the programs accredited by EPDAD are evaluated every 5 years, TEDU Rector Prof. Dr. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu listed the necessary conditions for the programs to be accredited as follows: "Within the scope of accreditation, EPDAD requires 7 conditions based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area. These include planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching, teaching staff, students, faculty-school cooperation, facilities, library and equipment, management and quality assurance. These areas are divided into three groups: initial, process and product. For the evaluation of each standard, metrics that prove the continuity of the success of the relevant institutions, a 4-grade scoring key is applied."
It has a positive impact on the employment of graduates
Underlining that the accreditation process supports the continuous development of institutions, Prof. Dr. İhsan Sabuncuoğlu said, ”Accreditation means that the quality standards of all processes are checked by an independent external auditor. While this evaluation process reveals the success of the institution, it also supports its continuous development. It reveals the strengths of the institution's education model and the areas that need to be developed. It allows students graduating from these universities to have a positive impact on their employment in the business world."
